[comp.sys.mac.hypercard] Why I posted the 1040A HyperCard stack with a distribution of world...

bytebug@dhw68k.cts.com (Roger L. Long) (04/05/88)

Since a couple of people have complained, I thought I would respond to this
publicly.

The things that are posted to comp.binaries.mac are of interest to different
people. While some may think that the latest posting of "uw" is the hotest
thing since sliced bread, others may think it a total waste of net bandwidth.
Can't please all of the people all of the time.

With a couple of the hypercard stacks that I've posted, Esperanto and 1040A,
there's more reason to download them than to learn Esperanto or fill out
your tax form. Some people might be interested in downloading them as
examples of stackware, and incorporate techniques that they learn into their
own stacks. Others might not want to learn Esperanto, but just see what its
all about. People outside the United States might want to see what a 1040A
form is all about.

Just because the 1040A stack might seem to be only of use to people in the
United States, I'm sure people outside our country might be able to gain
something from it, too. In fact, I can't imagine anything that might be
posted to comp.binaries.mac that would be necessary to post with a
distribution other than world.
