There's a note on HyperAge in todays San Francisco Chronicle/Examiner. It seems that the finances on the magazine are rather shakey, it's unsure if a second issue will ever be published, and various founders are suing each other. A possible sale of the magazine to another party is also possible. If you've been considering subscribing to HyperAge, I'd seriously suggest holding off until all this settles down. I wouldn't want my money tied up indefinitely (or permanently, if it closes down with no money to refund subscriptions...) while folks duke it out. (Unfortunately, they've cashed my subscription check, so I'm hoping they solve it soon...) One MAJOR problem I see with dedicated HyperCard subscribers right now is the lack of an advertiser base. There are only a few HyperCard products (Activision's offerins, Reports!, HyperDA). They're already advertising in these places; so are the publshers pushing HyperCard books. That doesn't leave much room for advertising growth, and puts the publishers on pretty risky ground -- lose one or two advertisers, and the magzine bleeds red ink all over the place. We may be seeing the first signs of it here. If I hear anything, I'll pass it along. Chuq Von Rospach chuq@sun.COM Delphi: CHUQ Welcome to the Latrine Wall!
