Some months ago I received a stack called 'Spelling' which implements a simple spelling quiz for kids. I've now used it for a while with my 3 year old, and the only problem with it is that it is buggy as the devil and I'd like to fix it. (However, it's password protected, so that I can't fix it). (By the way, if anyone can tell me how to get around the password, or if the author would give it to me, I'd like that, but that's another story). The problem I am intriuged with at the moment is that the Spelling stack uses MacinTalk to have the stack actually "say" the words. For kids, this is ideal, and I'd like MY educational stacks to speak also. But of course, I can't find out how it does that, since the stack is password protected. SO -- I'll bite. How do I get my stacks to speak? How can I invoke MacinTalk from HyperTalk? Any hints would help. Thanks. Jim cordy@qucis.bitnet cordy%qucis.bitnet@cunyvm.cuny.edu utcsri!qucis!cordy

There's a stack named "HyperZap" which can be used to get around passwords...it's probably available from your local Mac BBS. ----- John Melby jbm308@uxf.cso.uiuc.edu -----

Get your hands on 'Developer Stack v1.1'. Contained in it is an XCMD called "Speak". Developer Stack is pretty common on BBS's so check it out. It's probably on Compuserve and Delphi too. There are lots of handy XCMD's, XFCN's scripts and buttons in it. =============================================================================== Steve Witten Industrial Applications Center {ucbvax, hplabs}!hpda!hpdsla!hpiacla!steve Hewlett-Packard Co. steve@hpiacla.HP.COM "...Did you exchange a walk-on part in the war for a lead role in a cage?..."
