[comp.sys.mac.hypercard] Desperation time

steve@hpiacla.HP.COM (Steve Witten) (06/25/88)

I am officially giving up on running HyperCard with MultiFinder!!!

My situation is as follows:

Mac+ with 2Mb (I upgraded before the price went up!)
	System 6.0
	HyperCard 1.1
	Rodime s-20+
	800K external floppy
	printer & modem

I have VACCINE, SFScrollInit, Pyro!, Suitcase and QuickFolder INITS/cdevs
loaded at start up.

I have tried everything but all I get with HyperCard under MF is
freezes and bombs (or the "...unexpectedly quit(xx)" dialog). I am getting
tired of it.

I would appreciate any help with this (other applications seem to work fine)
so I won't feel like I wasted my money for my other 1Mb of memory.

Sign me frustrated...

A thanks to all you kind souls who responded to this note. The majority
opinion was that QuickFolder and SFScrollInit were the culprits. I removed
them and everything seems fine.

I'm now having a different sort of problem. I'm getting Bomb ID=10 when
running HC under MF. This only happens when the Mac heats up though. My
problem is compounded by the fact that my disc drive heats up too and the heat
rises up through my Mac.

Could this situation be one that a fan (shudder!!) could correct.

Thanks in advance...
