Someone just mailed this message to me here and I though some of you out in this group might want to see it - greg ----- CALL FOR HYPERTALK PROGRAMMERS! Have you come up with clever HyperTalk programming techniques? If so, The Waite Group wants you for our new book, Tricks of the HyperTalk Masters. We are looking for useful scripts that show how to extend and exploit HyperTalk. Tricks of the HyperTalk Masters will bring together experienced scriptors to share what they've learned with intermediate and advanced programmers. This book in progress, along the lines of our bestselling Tricks of the MS-DOS Masters and Tricks of the UNIX Masters, will be published by Howard W. Sams & Company. Chapters now in the works include: techniques for manipulating buttons, fields and sound, working with long stacks, using Xcmds, a benchmarking package that helps you make your stacks run faster and better, and an on-line interface to CompuServe. We are looking for tricks about: o Importing and exporting application files o Navigation -- linking and moving effectively between stacks o Buttons and fields o Graphics, animation, and attention-grabbing effects o Interfacing with devices and other operating systems o String handling o Sound o Creating XCMDS and XFCNS Any other ideas are welcome.
