I have been attempting (with much success AND equal frustration) to build a printcap entry for a C. Itoh M-1550 printer on a Fortune system. I have been able to get underlining, bold-faced type, and italic type working, and to get 10, 12, and 17 cpi working. I cannot get proportional spacing working. I have built the necessary wheel file indicating the character width of the proportional characters. I cannot, however, derive the necessary printcap file entries so that proportional spacing works completely. I suspect where my problem is is with horizontal spacing routines or spacing increments, but am not able to come up with the right mix of settings. Does anyone in netland already have or know of a working printcap entry for C. Itoh printers? Could anyone use a partially working entry? Help would be greatly appreciated!! W. Gieske aluxp!wg
