[comp.sys.mac.hypercard] XCMD and Lightspeed C

bordier@imag.imag.fr (Jerome Bordier) (08/25/88)

Does anybody in hypercard world know the right documentation to implement
XCMDs with Lightspeed C? If such a documentation doesnot exist, I would be
glad to have minimal information about difficulties encountered by an
experienced developer. We have succeeded in making XCMDs with MPW and we
are willing to try with LSC.

Thanks, Jerome

Jerome, there is an execellent book on writing XCMDs called "XCMD's for
HyperCard" by Gary Bond (put out by MIS: Press). It is filled with example
XCMDs in MPW Pascal and LSC (almost every example is in both languages).

It is practically a required text for XCMD/XFCN writers and is clearly
written to boot (I'll leave off all disparaging comments about Inside Mac).

You can also order a disk that contains all the source examples discussed
in the book (though most of the source that's general enough to be worth
copying is short enough to enter by hand w/out much problem).

Try Gary Bond's book "XCMDs for Hypercard" - it covers writing XCMDs in
MPW Pascal and LightSpeed C.
