A little over two months ago, I purchased Hypercard Construction Kit (Telesis Software Systems, or Telesis Educational Systems , or whatever they're calling themselves now if they still exist somewhere). I bought it here at UCLA in the computer section of our Campus Bookstore... When I got it home and started going through it, I found it terribly buggy. I called Telesis, and the Tech Support guy (I don't remember his name) asked me to describe the bugs, and the package, which I did (I have the initial release version, for which the manual is 3-ring looseleaf, with no cover!). He said "Oh, no problem! Your version is obsolete...I'll send you the correct one next week." I waited about 3 weeks and called the company again for a status report. No answer. I continued to call them for a couple of weeks; no answer. Conclusion: maybe they went belly-up. I checked with the Campus Bookstore. (the story goes on for a while...) Neither the bookstore nor I can find hide nor hair of Telesis, or anybody associated with it. The distributor from whom the Bookstore got (or *thinks* they got) HCK claims never to have heard of Telesis. Can anybody shed light on this dilemma? I really like the idea of HCK; I'd like a working version if there is such a thing. Failing that, I'd like my money back (fat chance ... :-{ ) Failing that, I'd at LEAST like to unravel the mystery, close the case, lick my wounds and go home.
