Several people have requested information on the ability of HyperWindows (tm) to solve various problems. I have tried to respond via E-mail, but keep getting bounced. So I will post (just one more time) a general description which I think will answer most of the questions. Please address any follow-up questions directly to me. Any rave reviews may be posted :-) Include a usps address with any questions, so I can still respond in case of E-mail bounce. HyperWindows (tm) from Tulip Software HyperWindows is a set of four XCMDs that adds color graphics windows to your HyperCard stack. It enables scripts to create and control new windows in front of HyperCard. Hypercard remains active, and continues to run normally behind the windows. The "Transparent" window option also helps create the illusion of color on the card itself. Mouse clicks pass through to the card, permitting use with buttons and other objects. Each window's contents can be drawn from a PICT resource in the stack, or from a separate PICT file. A command is provided to paste a picture from the clipboard into your stack. A PICT file can be created by most drawing programs, or can be found on some CD-ROMs. A script can control the location, style and size of a new window, and can close it at any time. The user can also drag, size, scroll, and close the windows if permitted by the script. Windows may overlap in any way, and when previously obscured portions are exposed, they are redrawn. Full color and multiple displays are supported on the Macintosh II, including optional palette control for scanned or painted images. Yet compatibility is maintained with the Macintosh Plus and SE. HyperWindows will be available from APDA, beginning with the November catalog. The suggested retail price is $59.00. It can also be ordered directly from the developer, and is available immediately. Just send a check or money order for $59 to: Tulip Software PO Box 3046 Andover, MA 01810 (508) 475-8711 Site licenses and commercial distribution licenses require an additional fee. Custom modification and consulting services are available. Source code can be made available. (HyperWindows is a trademark of Tulip Software. HyperCard is a trademark of Apple Computer, Inc.)
