I am running Hypercard under Multifinder and have run into two problems:
1) If I run out of memory while trying to open an application
(i.e. Open "Microsoft Word"), the command simply fails. Is there some
way I can programmatically determine the error, or, better yet, is
there some way I can anticipate the problem by finding out how much
free RAM is available under Multifinder?
2) If I try to open a document and application under Multifinder from within
HC (i.e. Open "memo" with "Microsoft Word") and the application is
already running, HC transfers to it but fails to open my desired
document. This is a feature recently added to the finder, will it be
added to Hypercard? Is there some way around it now?
Currently, I'm running HC 1.2.1, System 6.0.2, and Finder 6.1
I'd be willing to write XCMDs if necessary, but I need some direction on where
to find the information. Any suggestions?
