[comp.sys.mac.hypercard] An easy way to shuffle button ids? Or a better find command?

Two questions:

First, is there a good way of doing a find for the contents of a field
with a particular name, despite the fact that the field is numbered
differently on the different card backgrounds in the stack?

Second, is there any way to change the field numbering (e.g. what is now
field 13 should be field 2 to avoid problems with "find"), and failing
that, does someone have a script that can shuffle fields and their contents
(field 13 becomes field 2, field 2 becomes field 3, field 3 becomes field
4, etc.).  I have one background with 46 cards, I need to shuffle my field
numbers, but I don't want to loose the data. If all else fails I suppose I
can dump the data to a text file, rework the fields, and read in the data
again, but what a pain!

I hope these major nuisances will eventually disappear from hypercard.
