I have to write an XFNC, and my book (the hypercard handbook) says to little about this subject. Can anyone help? Can you please send me (shani@Math.Tau.Ac.IL or shani@taurus), a short example of an XFNC so I can see ho it recives parameters and how it returns answer. I prefer something wich is written for Lightspeed-C, but Tourbo-Pascal is okay too. I also unerstand that the XFNC should be added to the resource fork of the Hypercard program itself, how exactly? what name and type should it have? AdvThanksance O.S.

This is in response to a couple of requests for help on XCMD's and glue files. The information that you need is available from APDA. It is called HyperCard Developer's Toolkit. Their address: APDA 290 SW 43rd St. Renton, WA 98055 There is also a book called XCMD's for HyperCard (MIS Press) that contains example XCMD's and XFCN's. Larry Landry University of Rochester

You ask for help writing external functions for HyperCard. An excellent book exists on the subject, written by a member of the HyperCard Testing Team: XCMD's For HyperCard by Gary Bond publisher: MIS Press, Box 5277, Portland OR 97208 $24.95 The book covers both XCMD's and XFCN's. -- Scot Kamins - via FidoNet node 1:125/406 UUCP: ...!sun!hoptoad!fidogate!555!Scot.Kamins ARPA: Scot.Kamins@f555.n125.z1.FIDONET.ORG
