I tried to sort a stack and got a message like
"Sorting would be bad for this stack."
What's the problem and how can I fix or avoid it?

You didin't mention what KIND of stack you were looking at, but..
Usually this means that the stack's author has created the stack with a
certain card order that is essential for its use. E.g., the Apple
HyperCard Help stack says this if you attempt to sort it. Sorting the
Help stack would chage the order of cards, which would mean that you
couldn't just browse the stack to read it end-to-end. This isn't an
error, but the result of a message handler...
hope that helps a bit...
