[comp.sys.mac.hypercard] a fun stack for a 1yr old keystroke capture

np@doc.ic.ac.uk (Nigel Perry) (02/17/89)

Jeanne A. E. DeVoto in reply to an original request suggests using
and idle handler + blindTyping to intercept keystrokes, I used to do
this but its sloooow! So I wrote an XCMD "lockControl" which "locks"
the "control key" found on adb keyboards - even if yours is not an adb
keyboard... This causes "controlKey num" messages to be sent for every
key type (except control key combinations which I pass unaltered).
This XCMD has been posted to the sources group here in the UK - I long
ago gave up trying to submit things to the US based groups. If the original
inquirer wouild like a copy then send me an email address, if somebody
would like it for general non-UK distribution then send me your email
address. Other HC goodies have/will be posted in the UK and should
be available on the Lancaster archive for anybody interested. Nigel.
