Sure! BMUG has both the shareware (freeware?) MacIntalk *and* HyperMacIntalkz, an extremely neat stack utilizing MacIntalk to the max in a HyperCard environment. I have used HyperMacIntalk as an educational tool for my non-reading adult student, and he can figure out by the sound almost any words that he types in to it. And, the stack lets you customize sounds to produce words and sentences that are *very* well pronounced!

HyperMacintalk tells you everything you need to know to use it.

Also - I was very impressed at MacExpo in SF to see a blind person demonstrating a proprietary program called "outSPOKEN", by Berkeley Systems, 1700 Shattuck Ave, Berkeley, CA 94709 - (415) 540-5535.

He was scrolling through a large text file, and customizing the sounds being pronounced via MacIntalk until he had the whole file being read by the Mac with extremely clear pronounciation. Very impressive - and of course, all done without the benefit of sight. It must have given him back a lot of his independence to be creating these spoken files for himself and other visually-impaired people. Impressive.
