I have recently acquired a pro/350. After asking around I am able to find no way to format a floppy. I am looking for a utility which would allow me to format a floppy under VENIX, or documentation on how to go about developing such a utility. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, tsc (address: decvax!mcnc!unccvax!tsc)

You can format a PRO-350 floppy by using the P/OS disk services menu selection, under which there is a floppy option. Under RT, there is probably a similar function available as a command to "format dz1" or something like that. > You can format a PRO-350 floppy by using the P/OS disk services > menu selection This is not a true format which can lay down tracks on a fresh un-formatted disk. To format fresh disks you need a rainbow. scott hossler rochester!ritcv!sah9577
