Greetings I am a member of Apple Canada's Apple Research Partnership Program in Halifax. We are grad students in various disciplines at local Universities (there are 5 in Halifax) who work for Apple to assist educational developers (professors or grad students developing applications for their research). Enough preamble. Today, I tried to run Hyperscan, Bill's lovely stack. Upon it opening, I got a system error (#04) and it crashed. We have a MacIIx running System 6.03, 32bit Quickdraw, Finder 6.1, an Applescanner, CD-ROM on the SCSI. The only inits are for the CD-ROM and a deskpict. The error in question is a div by zero error. What is causing this? Suggestions? I ran the program on the SE in the lab and its fine. All other stacks run fine as well. AppleScan runs fine. I reconnected all the cables and dumped the inits as well, but the Stack keeps crashing. I also reloaded the stack, the home stack, Hypercard itself and the scanner startup document but all to no avail. In another lab, a copy of that stack ran fine on a MacII with system 6.02 and no 32 bit quickdraw. Can anyone offer a suggestion? It is embarrasing to try and demonstrate my knowledge of the Mac to a professor and have repeated crashes with no explanation! Peter J.
