We are working on a language stack here. We have run into one problem. Hypercard thinks that 'i' and '(accent mark)i' are the same thing. Is there any easy way around this? charToNum comes up with an acceptable answer, but I would hate to have to do that to whole words as slow as Hyper talk is, an XFNC would be OK, but I would rather not have to write it. So. Anybody have any easy work arounds I have missed? Thanks very much! Dave Reeck REECK@LCLARK.BITNET !tektronix!reed!lclark!reeck

If I have a vague understanding of your problem, you should not have to use numToChar on every letter of a word. Why not check on whether any words contain the charToNum in question and use the offset to find its position? -- Barry Chern via cmhGate - Net 226 fido<=>uucp gateway Col, OH UUCP: ...!osu-cis!n8emr!cmhgate!200!Barry.Chern INET: Barry.Chern@f200.n226.z1.FIDONET.ORG
