I revised the XFCN "askSecret" that I finished last week.
The dialog box now centers on the HyperCard window rather than
on the Macintosh screen; it is also possible for the user
to specify the exact location that the dialog box should be
placed.
Because this is a slight improvement over the HyperTalk "ask"
command, I decided to call "askSecret" "ask", and make it
a replacement for the HyperTalk ask command.
The user's input is not hidden unless the "secret" keword is
given. Since my version of "ask" is a function rather than
a command, all existing stacks will still use the HyperTalk
ask command until they are explicitly changed. ("get ask(..."
instead of "ask ...").
The new stack is available for anonymous ftp from ssyx.ucsc.edu,
and I did remember to check the permissions! :)
