I have been developing a stack that will allow a user to prtect it, or deprotect it using the DeProtect XCMD (from AnalytX Developer's Stack vers. 1.2r released 6/10/88). I tried incorporating it into a button script, and placing the full pathname of the current stack (which is the one protected) into a variable for deprotect to use. Well, nothing happens! When I leave the stack and return to it, I still have to enter the password! I've tried using the XCMD as recommended but to no avail. What can I do to make this work? Jim Collymore p.s. I am using version 1.2.2 of HyperCard.

If it's the one Allan Foster and I cooked up a couple of years ago (10/87), it doesn't work with HyperCard 1.2 and later versions -- the password scheme changed, and we never tried to dope out the new scheme... =Ned Horvath=
