I have come across a hypercard command called DEBUG. I have tried to figure out how it worked by invoking it with a few things like debug script debug bg script etc. Nothing exciting happened. The downer is that now when an error occurs in a script the notification window only has a cancel button, no script button. I would be indebted to the person who could give be the syntax for this command, so I could turn the script button back on. Any pointers to any other undocumented features of hypercard would be nice too. Thanks Fred seibel@bbn.com

Apparently, debug was a command added to HC v.1.1 to help deal with locked media such as CD-ROMs or locked floppy disks. It has one argument whose value is either WriteOn or WriteOff. Debug WriteOff prevents changes in a card from being saved to disk Since Debug is no longer needed (HC v 1.2 and greater can deal with locked and read-only media), it may dissappear in future versions of HyperTalk. It was just a temporary fix.
