I recently purchased the Micropro Wordstar 2000 Plus,
Version 1.01 (no copy protection) word processing program.
I am trying to run it on an IBM PC and a Diablo 630 ECS (Extended
Character Set) Version 103 printer. I have encountered several
interesting problems which friends who have the Micropro Wordstar
(predecessor) say pose no problem for their word processing program.
The manual that came with Wordstar 2000 Plus has no information
concerning these problems. I have asked around but no-one seems
to have any answers.
The problems are:
1) How to send "control" and "escape" codes from
Wordstar 2000 to the Diablo printer:
a) for initial set-up of the printer
and b) during editing sessions
e.g. SO and SI for control of the extended
(192) character printwheel
2) How to obtain 1.5, 2.5 and 3.5 line linefeeds in
addition to the usual 1,2,3 and 4 line linefeeds
3) How to install Wordstar 2000 Plus on RAM disk
(there is no copy protection) to decrease access
time.
Any valuable information and/or answers concerning these problems
would be greatly appreciated.
