[comp.sys.mac.hypercard] Hypercard 1.2.2 - Where is it?

kevinm@telxon.UUCP (Kevin Maisano) (03/07/90)

Hi!! Could someone please tell me where I can get a copy
of Hypercard 1.2.2 for a reasonable fee? The local
computer store wants $40. I received version 1.2.1 with my
Mac Plus some time ago so I am not interested in getting the
manuals. All I want is the application itself.

	Please respond to me directly.

	Thanks in advance,
	Kev.

They're supposed to update it for you free, onto your original
floppies, if they're licensed Apple dealers. You could always
threaten to make a stink to Apple if they won't.

Your dealer is doing you dirt. I took my old (original) Hypercard
1.2.1 disks in to a local dealer, and they copied the newer versions
onto them at no charge. I have never encountered an authorized
dealer who wouldn't do that. There are also local BBS here
in the Twin Cities that are licensed to maintain downloadable
files of system software and other stuff that Apple gives away
with hardware purchases. Haven't looked for Hypercard, but
wouldn't be surprised if it were there. Just downloaded System 6.0.4
from one of those last week. Try checking your local boards.
