I'm using a HyperCard stack as a front-end for applications on an AppleShare file server in a user room environment. Some of the applications on the server are in folders with restricted access, and I need to be able to find out if they are "private" in such a way that I can tell the user what is going on, so he does get the "Where Is This Supposed Application You Want Me To Open?" dialogue. :-) Does anyone have an XFCN that returns 1 if a file exists? That's all I really need, since AppleShare won't even let the Finder know the file is there, right? (If the user does not have access to the particular folder it is in, I mean.) Thanks for any help you might be able to offer... -/ Dave Caplinger /--------------------------------------------------------- Microcomputer Specialist, Campus Computing, Univ. of Nebraska at Omaha dent@zeus.unomaha.edu ...!uunet!unocss!dent DENT@UNOMA1
