[comp.sys.mac.hypercard] logging user interaction while using hyperCard

pevans@umd5.umd.edu (Peter Evans) (03/28/90)

We are currently investigating different ways of capturing data while
people are using HyperCard stacks. Ideally we would like to capture
everything that happens i.e. key strokes and mouseclicks and store
this with a time stamp and also information about what was on the
screen at that time e.g. button, field, background, card, stack names.

Has anyone had any experience collecting this type of information?
Please send email directly to me.

Thanks,

I believe the ProtoTymer will do all these things for you already;
for a description, see "ProtoTymer: Human Performance Instrumentation
for HyperCard Prototyping" by Dwight Miller & Andrew Stone in the 1989
Proceedings of the Human Factors Society 33rd Annual Meeting (P. 249-253).
For a copy, send a formatted 3.5" diskette to Dr. Miller @
	Division 7223
	Sandia National Laboratories
	P.O. Box 5800
	Albuquerque, NM 87185.

Hope this helps.
