I am having trouble dialing a phone number using 'Phone' stack through a modem with tone or pulse dialing. I set the 'Modem (tone dialing)' button on, clicked the 'Click here to dial' button, then entered a valid phone number. I heard the dial tone, then the modem just hung up without making any touch-tone dialing sound. I then tried several hypertalk 'dial' command in the message window at the 'Home' stack. Still the same result (no dialing sound). Dialing through the speaker works, and I have a SupraModem 2400 (somewhat Hayes compatible) and am using Hypercard 1.2.5 and System 6.0.5 on Mac IIcx. (By the way, Hypercard 1.2.2 and System 6.0.3 didn't work either for my modem dialing, that is the reason I upgraded them in the hope of fixing the problem, but to no avail.) Is there a bug in hypercard, or is my modem not compatible with hypercard, or is there something I missed (I tried a lot)?
