It doesn't die, however, until it gets to the normal HyperCard "idle" time. That is, it performs all the opencard, openstack, etc. stuff and then dies; or, if we do a command-period while it's opening, it dies immediately. We do not have any idle handlers in the stack. If anyone can suggest a way to recover our data (several hours since last backup), we would much appreciate it :-) And I would like to know what the heck went wrong in the first place!!
