[comp.sys.mac.hypercard] SuperCard+HyperSound...How??

aku@tik.vtt.fi (Arto Kujala) (07/13/90)

I want to use MacRecorder from a SuperCard
project: record & play users' voice comments.
I tried it, but did not succes.

I understand that Hypersound XCMDs (Fplay &
Record) can't use SuperCard's sound resources -
is this true ? Has somebody found a solution
to this problem ?

There are two ways to record and play back sound in SuperCard:

1) Get SuperCard 1.5 and use the "open resource" command to make the
resource fork of the project work normally.

2) Put the record and fplay xcommands in the SharedFile as project resources
(that is, import them into the project itself using SuperEdit), then put the
other resources such as snddriver into the resource fork of the SharedFile.
(You may have to put a copy of the record and fplay commands into the resource
fork also, I can't remember for sure). Then record and fplay will work.

P.S. You don't need fplay if you aren't recording in compressed modes.
