[comp.sys.mac.hypercard] HyperCard 2.0 Net Distribution

cpv0@GTE.COM (Cameron Vaziri) (07/05/90)

Is there any way that HyperCard 2.0 can be made available via
anonymous ftp to apple.com?

It seems that since HyperCard 2.0 is "system" software, it
could be distributed in a similar manner as System 6.0.5.

This would be much appreciated since Dealer access to
HyperCard 2.0 will probably be pretty slow.

Thanks, in advance.

I agree that making Hypercard 2.0 available for ftp from apple.com
(and then subsequent sites, perhaps) is a very good idea.

It's been announced that here in New Zealand, we won't get Hypercard
through our dealers until September - and I can't wait that long!!!!
I have a very important project for my masterate that needs the
capabilities of HC 2.

RSVP Apple!!

(I was so tempted to include Lawrence D'Oliviero's article...but for bandwidth's
sake)

Is there a mailbox at apple.com we could stuff that might influence their
decision to make HC 2.0 ftpable?

Yes, please do it! I have sent my local Apple Dealer a purchase order
for HC 2.0 (I want the manual), BUT I will have to wait weeks.

I could get it from apple.com today; IF it was available.... How
about it Apple? Let it out on the streets NOW (Please?)

I would assume that most of you follow comp.sys.mac.misc. But just in case
you don't I will tell you what I saw there. (Sorry, but I didn't save the
messages) Someone from Apple posted that they are currently reorganizing
their network ftp-able files (I think they are putting them all on a computer
designated for that sole purpose), and when they are done all the developer
files, including HyperCard, will be in one directory.

Yes...including HyperCard! Yeeeaaaaaaaaa!
