[comp.sys.mac.hypercard] What is th Soft Carriage Return Character

Sharkey@ccu.umanitoba.ca (08/26/90)

 all,

I'm feeding a card field to my xfcn from HyperCard 1.2.5.
And I'm having some difficulty figuring out what character is being used
to signify a soft carriage return in those lines in the field which are
longer than the width of the card. The hard return is the carriage return
character '/r',

Anyone Know what the soft return character is?

There is no soft return character. As far as HC is concerned, all the
text between hard returns is on the same line, though it will wrap to
the next apparent line if it's too long.
