This is not a comment on Apple's distribution practices, nor on the latest retirement of the Frank Sinatra of the Internet. It is instead a question about HyperCard 2.0 and fonts. Having recently seen one of the user group copies, I was wondering how the new HyperCard dealt with fonts. The tour stack uses Palatino. Many users will not have this in their system. The distribution also includes a font suitcase with some Palatino and a bit of Helvetica. Double-clicking on this suitcase opens my Font/DA mover, version 3.6, but I don't get fonts listed in the usual list (the scrolling list is empty). What gives? How does HyperCard recognize the suitcase? Problems continue. The tour stack starts, but there is a mismatch between my fonts and the ones the stack wants. This is indicated by the Click to Begin field. Begin occurs on the second line and is mostly hidden. On the next screen, the field containing the trademark registration symbol is out of place. My system has Palatino installed in the system file. In my stacks, I use New Century Schlbk. I was going to try to license the screen fonts from Adobe, copying them into my stacks for distribution. How should I proceed? And what are fref, NFNT, and FOND resources? Inquiring minds want to know. Thanks in advance.
