I just installed Hypercard 2.0 on my Mac IIcx with 5 megs
of ram, 6.0.7 and I am using Virtual set to 8 megs of ram..
I run a slew of INIT's of course and everytime I try to run
Hypercard in 256 color mode I get a error msg indicating
that 2.0 wants more memory to run. I tried running it up to
4 megs of partition space and still cannot get past the error
msg. If I reduce the color level to 2 color, it runs fine.
I find it hard to believe that 2.0 forces you to run in two
color mode or B&W. While I have not tried playing the remove
the INIT game using Startup Manager or InitPicker, I would
like to know if someone can explain why I would get the error
msg in the first place and if they perhaps already know what
might be installed causing the problem...

The one conflict I know of that manifests itself in the way you described is with Smart Alarms version 3. Jam software is aware of the problem and has released a minor update to fix the bug.
