I've used HC for limited CASE work. It is a fine tool for testing user interface ideas and setting down basic operations quickly (operations that actually work). I've not followed anyone's set rules so I don't know what you are referring to (the bookDesigning Object-Oriented Software" by Rebecca Wirfs-Brock,Brian Wilkerson, and Lauren Wiener where you quote, "offer basic design principles, and a specific design process, that can be applied to any software programming effort, even those not using object-oriented programming languages or environments.") and would be interested in a bit more information. HC, is nice for this since it is very easy to test ideas thanks to Hypertalks ease of use and reletive strength. And though you aren't creating code you can port to your C,PI was able to clear up in my mind my goals and how I wanted to attain them. You can't do that with things like AppBuilder or Prototyper. -- Ken Knight, Ken.Knight@f421.n109.z1.fidonet.org via The Black Cat's Shack's FidoNet<->Usenet Gateway blkcat.fidonet.org and Fidonet 1:109/401
