[comp.sys.mac.hypercard] HC2.0.2 MultiFinder bug?

smelly@polari.UUCP (Tom Benedict) (12/06/90)

Just got my HC 2.02 upgrade and am thrilled that the 'unmark all cards'
command was fixed so nicely!! Unmark 680 cards in less than 4 seconds (on an
SE)

My next test was to see if the resume from MultiFinder bug was solved, as it
was reported here. Well, I'm still having the same problem as before. If
anyone
from Apple/Claris has a solution or explanation, I'd appreciate it.

Here's what happens:

In the Power Tools stack which is included w/HC is an XCMD called ShowList.
It's sort of a scaled down version of Jay Hodgdon's ShowDialog XCMD. (Maybe he
wrote it!!) This XCMD can be demo-ed within the stack by clicking the 'Info'
light bulb button. I modified the script of this button by inserting a
'wait 1 secs' command on the line immediately after the 'on mouseUp' line.
This give me time to send HyperCard to the background before the ShowList XCMD
is called. Once in the background, HyperCard should notify me that a dialog
is awaiting my action, however I get no beep or flashing stack icon in the
Apple
menu. I CAN see the dialog so two possible things can happen:

     1) if I bring HC to the front by cycling through the MF icons in the
menubar I can act upon or dismiss the dialog properly.
     2) BUT, if I merely click on the hypercard window to bring it forward,
the HC notify icon starts flashing and the screen locks until I click
a bunch of times in the menubar. (In HC2.0 I could fix things
repeatedly clicking in the TITLE bar).

Screen redawing is not complete in either case.

So.......Is the bug in the XCMD or HC2.0.2 or me??

Thanks for any answers.
