[comp.sys.mac.hypercard] How do I check for Black and White monitors?

Greetings,

I'm writing a stack which uses HyperCard 1.2.x's visual effects. Unfortuately,
these only work when then monitor is set to black and white (1 bit). For
compact Macs, that's fine, but for others, the stack will not work correctly.
Can someone please tell me how to determine from within Hypercard whether the
monitor is set to black and white (or, even better, what it is set to) so that
I can flag the user with an error message/warning ?
