Please, no flames if this is a mundane question - I'm DEFINITELY more of a HC hacker than an HC developer, so.... I have been trying to modify several stacks that I have. Under pre-2.0 HC, I could select the field tool, select the field that I wanted to modify, and just type. Now, under HC 2.0, when I type HC wants to interpret what I've type as HC commands (at least that's what I believe that it is doing - it puts up the message box with what I've typed and says it doesn't understand what I typed). Can someone explain what I am doing wrong?? I can modify everything in the field except the text (this includes the font, type of field, etc). Thanks in advance for any help. >Under pre-2.0 HC, I could select the field tool, select the field >that I wanted to modify, and just type. Your terminology is very loose and misleading. Don't you mean that you selected the *browse* tool (the pointing finger which becomes an "I-beam" when it's over an unlocked field), and then you put the insertion point in a field and typed? The way you stated it, the only thing you could be typing is a new name for the field in the "Field Info" window. Not trying to flame you, but it's hard to know what you're asking. I strongly suspect that you have this field set to "shared text"; if so, you will be able to edit its contents only if you are in the background layer; if you don't want the same text on every card, turn off the shared attribute. Another possibility is that you simply have the field locked, in which case unlock it.
