[comp.sys.mac.hypercard] Help with Printing Woes, Please!

So, now that we got HC 2.0 with adjustable size cards, I thought,
I can print onto 3x5 index cards with no problem.

Whereupon I proceeded to MyPageSetup and made an index card page size
for my ImageWriter II. And I made a index card size HyperCard stack.

But most of the time, when I print a card (using Print Card) for each card
I get 4 pages (which equates into 4 index cards). Very rarely I get one
HyperCard card generating 1 page (i.e. 1 index card). Needless to say, that's
a tremendous waste of expensive form feed index cards. And it strictly
depends on the stack I'm using, not the particular card I'm printing.

Anyone know how I can get 1 HyperCard card to print onto 1 index card?
Why does HyperCard think my HC cards are larger than 1 page?

It would be nice have HC recognize the formfeed character during printing.
Your problem appears to be just the opposite. If I understand correctly, you
are printing single cards within a repeat loop and are getting one card per 4
index cards.
Have you tried decreasing the size of the HC card a little to make sure it's
smaller than 3x5?
Does it still happen when you Print All Cards or Print Marked Cards?

I been struggling with the opposite problem. I want to format a container of
text with embedded formfeeds as page breaks. I talked to Claris about it and
the have no solution. HC does not send formfeeds out the printer port. Maybe
there's an XCMD which will do it.

Good Luck

I have written an XCMD for printing from HyperCard. It is quite general
purpose, but is somewhat cumbersome to use (many options to specify). One
of the features that I added recently is the ability to send embedded
formfeed characters. The XCMD is called PrFlds (current version 2.3)
and has been uploaded to Sumex and other sites. If you cannot find it,
let me know and I can email it to you.
