Hey y'all!! First of all, stop complaining about file formats and forward and backward compatibility, as if everything could be designed right the first time, taking every eventuality into consideration. Decisions must be made. Are we mice or are we people!!:-} Stick to your guns, Kevin!!!!! On a lighter note, and with no accusations that marketing drove design (God, how low can you go with **no** facts....), I am picking up a thread which emerged early on as 2.0 came out: The preservation of styled text from HyperCard. There was some talk about xcmds and xfcns but nothing has appeared either as news or as files. Is there someone working on this?? I would love to be able to create a file (write styled field 1 to file myfile) that Word or MacWrite could read with fonts and so on intact. I know that I could create an RTF file for Word, but now that Claris has HyperCard, will they be including XTND technology into a future release or into support stacks?? This would a be a wonderful extension to HyperCard and one that will allow for better integration with other Mac apps. Otherwise, I would like to compliment people like Jeanne and Kevin who have been more than patient with us, have offered *specific* advice and code and who deserve better than cheap insinuations about their motives and the forces behind the design of HyperCard. All flames to someone else please!! Love and Peace no stupid 2 screen sig file, keeps the space bar happy!
