Yes, there's been a bunch of articles about this little beast in misc.
magazines. We have one, and it's been pretty neat, in spite of the
numerous limitations.

It has a moderately high-res electroluminescent screen. Talking about
lines x columns is kind of meaningless, since, like the Mac, the screen
is bit mapped and the user can use any one of a number of fonts in any
window. It even comes with a font editor.

The Unix in ROM is system III. They say they'll be upgrading to system
V, but have no plans to go to 4.2 (alas!). Anyway, the 'only' part of
Unix in ROM is the Kernel. The shells and 4 bezillion utilities are on
disk. Therein lies the rub. Even though the diskettes are fairly high
capacity (700K), they ain't high enough. It's impossible to keep all
the stuff one normally needs on one diskette, and there's nowhere near
enough room available in the RAMdisk to hold them, either. For
example, the preprocessor for the C compiler is on one diskette, while
the compiler proper is on another. Also, if you're interested in doing
development on this thing, you'll need a full meg of RAM. And it comes
with *no* serial port.

So, it's a less than ideal development machine. On the other hand, I
think it would make a g r e a t application engine.
