Kevin, Jeanne, Martin, Hello Again!! I have a stack where the user can mark cards either by clicking on a field to set the marked to true or false (with a little checkmark to indicate the state) as well as a button to mark cards all in one fell swoop. I mark the cards by using the "mark cards by finding string blah" and this works **wonderfully**! BUT, I also have two navigation arrows, Left and Right, and I want the user to be able to move to the next marked card or previous card by holding down the Option key when cliick the arrow. My stack has three backgrounds, but the arrows are so scripted that they only move the user in one of the backgrounds. I used the line "go to next marked card of this background" and got the file selection dialog box asking me to find "this background." So I tried "go to next marked card in this background" and the same thing. If I type "go to next card of this background" the arrow correctly only moves me around in that background. What gives? Why can I not use "the next marked card of/in this background"? Does HyperCard parse this differently, and why?? By the way, I followed a suggestion from someone (love you!!) about how to prevent HyperCard from crashing on me at home. He suggested to up the Finder memory size from the 160K to 256K and this has worked. Not a single crash in hours :>) or even days (thank god!). Thanks again for all your help, netfolk.
