[comp.sys.mac.hypercard] Sound input software for IIsi mike?

shell@fornax.UUCP (Barry Shell) (02/14/91)

I have not been able to find any public domain software that will
allow me to use the microphone on my IIsi to input sound. Apple
said they would send me a hypercard stack that would do this in
the future, (a card came with the new mac), but I need it now,
so was wondering if someone could send me such a thing. I just
want to record pieces longer than the 10 seconds allowed by
the control panel.

If you have such software please email directly to me or tell me
what archive I can find it in. I looked in sumex-aim at Stanford and
could not find anything specifically for the built in mike on the
new macs.

Send answers to shell@cs.sfu.ca and I will summarize to the apps group.

I sent my card out months ago, never got the stack. Never have troubles with
my si though, no mouse sticking, few unreasonable crashes (it is funny that
the no processor bomb comes up for everything, including scsi ID conflicts).
They bait and switched, apple's fault, not the dealers. They said at the
wonderful new 800 number that they would sell me as a student the computer
in my home state (sales tax). Probably the same guys who now are holding on to
the hypercard stack I mailed away for, laughing and trying to figure out how to
annoy the enduser while the engineering types are wondering why we are upset
with the new computers.

Is there any reason why the Audio stack can't be sent to
the sumex archives? It seems that several users have experienced
quite a delay in receiving a piece of stackware that would be
easy to obtain/distribute electronically. I would be happy to
upload it if it's OK to do so ...

I tried "shell@cs.sfu.ca" without getting a reply.
