The purpose of this posting is to obtain some more information about an information bank I am developing. The testbank, info bank, is to be used by other students at the university to help study for tests in their classes. Here are the specs: 1. easily understood interface 2. capable of displaying tests containing texts and illustrations 3. offers a variety of quick printing options 4. allows for an update to the bank with recent tests I currently have a test version running on a macintosh using hypercard. The process of placing the tests into hypercard involves scanning the test's text using OmniPage, saving it as a MicroSoft Word document, scanning the illustrations, pasting each one individually into the document, and then pasting each page of the word document onto my cards in the hypercard stack. This process takes much too long for the time I have available after my academic work for the week is done. Also, the time it takes to print several tests is too long. This is based on the assumption that the student wishing to print a test does not have the time to sit at the computer, but would rather be studying. The macintosh is running off a server which handles 25 other macintoshes and prints to a HP Series II. Could you please suggest a better implementation of any sort. This could include running the testbank on a mac, pc or sun. Thanks, Tom
