HELP! I need to know how to implement interstack communication across LocalTalk using HyperCard 2.0. (Doesn't that sound impressive? :-) ) I know what is available to do this under HC 1.2.x, but do these XCMDS work withHC 2.0? I also own the XCMDs put out by APDA but they are the older ones (i.e., before HC 2.0 was released). Do these still work with HC 2.0? If not, are they being upgraded even as I speak (type/post)? Can I get mine upgraded if I'm stilla member? $$$$ or (dare I say it) Free? Are there any other XCMDs/XFCNs to do this? Are they commercial or PD/SW? If they are PD/SW where can I get them? Thanks in advance. -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Howard Fore fore@athena.cs.uga.edu (128.192.4.49)

Re: Appletalk Communication with HyperCard 2.0. What XCMD's are you referring to which provided communication over AppleTalk to HyperCard 1.2x? I'm aware of HyperCom, which has been updated to work with HC2. but would be interested to hear of others. If you're interested in HyperCom contact : GAVA Corporation 206 784 4736 AppleLink GAVA If you know of other xcmds please let me know, as I'm looking for alternatives. tom benedict smelly@polari!.uucp

The following are available from APDA. Hypercard AppleTalk Toolkit M7013 $20 Hypercard CD Audio Toolkit M0152LL/A $75 Hypercard MacTCP Toolkit M0228LL/A $20 Hypercard Serial Communications Kit M7015 $20 Hypercard Videodisc Toolkit M6059 $40 There are certain constraints and restrictions about their use: you must get a license before shipping a product containing them. I have converted the demo stacks that came with the AppleTalk tools and ran some test on an incomplete networked stack set. In both cases success was at hand. But there was not enough testing to find out how compatible it will be. Any how APDA just listed something new that may or may not help us out called 'Hypercard Communications Tools' or something like that. If you find out what it is let me know.
