[comp.sys.mac.hypercard] XFCNs and Memory Mangling

wieser@cs-sun-fsa.cpsc.ucalgary.ca (Bernhard Wieser) (02/22/91)

Hello netpeople, this is a question for anyone who ... knows the answer!

I've written a bunch of XFCNs, and am worried about how HC treats the
returnValue. I am under the impression, all I have to do is allocate
some handle to a C string, set it, and HC will purge it when done with
it. Is this correct? If so, how does HC get rid of the handle?
Does it just wait for old handles to be purged, or does it actually
DisposHandle it for you? Any comments appreciated - e-mail me, since
I don't frequent this forum. Thanks.
B.
