[comp.sys.mac.hypercard] Whither the left quotation mark?

rad@arp.anu.edu.au (Robin Davies) (03/01/91)

It seems that HC 2.O gives the left quotation mark key (top left hand
corner on my old Plus keyboard) the same interpretation as command-tilde
and the downarrow key, i.e. it takes you back to whatever card you were
previously looking at. I need to use the left quotation mark character
in text fields. I can't use Mac-specific "smart quote" characters
because the text is going to end up in a LaTeX document. At the moment
I'm relying on a script to generate the character (the script pastes the
character into the field rather than typing it) but it's pretty clumsy.
Can anyone tell me how to give the offending key its old job back?
