It seems that HC 2.O gives the left quotation mark key (top left hand corner on my old Plus keyboard) the same interpretation as command-tilde and the downarrow key, i.e. it takes you back to whatever card you were previously looking at. I need to use the left quotation mark character in text fields. I can't use Mac-specific "smart quote" characters because the text is going to end up in a LaTeX document. At the moment I'm relying on a script to generate the character (the script pastes the character into the field rather than typing it) but it's pretty clumsy. Can anyone tell me how to give the offending key its old job back? Robin Davies rad@arp.anu.oz.au

To type a single backwards apostrophe, type option-` twice in a row. - David
