[comp.sys.mac.hypercard] HyperCard for Education

ws1x+@andrew.cmu.edu (W. Martin Schwartz) (03/06/91)

Hi!

I am working with a project team at Carnegie Mellon whose main
objective is to integrate computers into the first grade curriculum
at a McKeesport, Pa. school. We are using HyperCard as a means to
get teachers interested in using the computer more.

What I was wondering was if anyone knew of somewhere we could down
load some public domain stacks specifically aimed at first graders
or at least the primary grades, 1-3. We'll take advice, too, if
you have it. Thanks in advance!

I believe that Dr. Anthony Kelly of the Rutgers University Graduate School of
Education may be able to assist you. He and his students have been working on
HyperCard educational stacks for the early primary grades.I recently had the
opportunity to see a presentation of some of these stacks - all developed in
the last few years - and found them to be rather impressive.I hope this
information will be useful.
