[comp.sys.mac.hypercard] HC 2.0 Window and Palette quandaries

mpradhan@f.adelaide.edu.au (03/06/91)

Hi. I would appreciate information on how I can create a floating palette
in HC 2.0 to which I could write text messages. Are there any examples or
sources of information on how to do this (ie. not the usual Palette
Maker button arrangement).
The other issue which has me somewhat baffled is how to obtain a
window pointer for a window created by the Picture XCMD so I can
then setport and draw stuff over the picture.

Thanks in advance for any bits of advice.

 Regards,
 Malcolm

You can create floating text palettes in HC2.0 using Frederic Rinaldi's
wonderful Textoid XCMD (currently in release 2.1). Works flawlessly and
has all sorts of customization goodies.

I access the Internet through a dial-up modem, so it's not worth it to
me to BinHex and upload the sucker, sorry. Maybe someone can point to
an FTP site that has it.

(It's also on CompuServe and BIX, if you have access.)
