[net.music] Ralph Records Sucks

nessus@mit-eddie.UUCP (Doug Alan) (08/26/85)

I just bought Art Bears' "Winter Songs" on Ralph Records instead of
Recommended Records. I should have paid the extra bucks. Ralph Records
didn't include the lyric sheet! Recommended Records wouldn't have done
this to me! Lousy no good Ralph!

Speaking of Ralph, is anyone out there in to Snakefinger or The Residents?
Or any of those other bizarre Ralph bands? I heard that Ralph went out of
business, which is a shame because they were one of the only labels around
which really exhibited guts, if you know what I mean. I think their logo
used to be a drawing if some guy ralphing(!) which looked really good, as I
recall. I was listening to the Snakefinger album Greener Pastures recently
and it's got some really interesting sounds coming from whatever guitar/synth/
percussion configurations they came up with. Great melodies too.

		No way up
		and no way down
		Nothing in the middle..
		and no way around.

Yeah, they are all great! Tuxedomoon, Renaldo & The Loaf, Fred Frith,
Art Bears, etc.!
