I wonder, you could do a lot of things by just directly drawing to the card window. The only drawback is that you lose your drawing when the window is updated. Suggested fix: wouldn't it be nice if HyperCard sent the current card an "update" or "repaint" (a la Wingz) message when the card window needed updating? An XCMD could then do a ValidRgn call on the area that it drew in, and HyperCard would redraw everywhere but in there.
