> I am making an orientation stack for work. It is required that people >look at some emrgency procedures. All of the procedures have been written up >in Microsoft Word. There are several hundred pages. What my main concern is >that I want people to be able to open these emergency files rather quickly, in >cas of an emergency. I tried the basic command that enables you to open a file >with an application. A window then appears showing what is in the current >folder. What I am asking is how can I change what folder HyperCard looks in. >I have tried using a path name but it only displays the path name as the file >name and remains in the current directory. If any one could possibly help me. I pisted this message a few days ago, the responses I have been getting are toinclude a full path name of the file and application: on mouseUp open "ECS Operations:OpsDoc:OpsGuide:Section I Emergency Procedures" with "ECS Operations:Applications:MSWord 4.00B:Microsoft Word" --invoke dialog box end mouseUp What I want is to not open a specific file but to just open a folder and have the user pick which file he wants from the dialog box. When I include the full pathname like above I get a dialog box asking where "ECS Operations:OpsDoc:OpsGuide:Section I Emergency Procedures" is but the dialog box is in the Hyper Card folder, I want it to be in the "Section I Emergency Procedures" folder. If anyone has a clue please Email me or Post. -Vince salvato@enuxha.eas.asu.edu
